When I first got off of sugar, I relied heavily on diet coke and diet mtn. dew to get through the day.

It provided a sweet tooth craving release, at least momentarily.

I began to notice a few things though:

1). My sugar cravings increased tremendously;

2).  I was bloated and felt crap

3). It just felt like a work around.

100 Day Challenge Rules

As you can see, our rules for sugar abstinence include “No Diet Sodas/Chemical replacements”

Some of our users grumbled about this and even left the challenge.

Diet Drinks linked to Heart Attacks and Early Death

A new study has dowsed the flames of the many people who drink diet drinks as a ‘healthy alternative’.

It’s just not that.

Diet drinks are not a healthy alternative.  I’m not saying they are worse than sugary drinks.  But they aren’t better.

Consider this statement from the study:

“Drinking two or more of any kind ofartificially sweetened drinks a day is linked to an increased risk of clot-based strokes, heart attacks and early death in women over 50.”
